The Angler Monster is a subterranean creature that lives within the Abandoned Gem Settlement on Homeworld. It's one of the few creatures that actively eats Gemstones.
Appearance
The Angler Monster stands taller than Rupee, but shorter than most Diamonds. It is a theropod-like creature similar to a Tyrannosaur, with a head much like a Angler Fish or Piranha. Its back is covered in thick spikes reaching up to its neck, two muscular legs with broad claws on its feet, and needle-like teeth jutting out from its jaws. It has two sets of pale "lifeless" eyes, and a bioluminescent lure on its forehead.
History
It is unknown where it came from. During construction of the currently Abandoned Gem Settlement, the Angler Monster appeared and started eating the Gems inside, vicious enough to drive the race away.
Season 2
When Lapis Lazuli, Rarity, and Sapphire investigated the settlement, the Angler Monster appeared and attempted to eat them while they were within the settlement. It tried catching them outside of the settlement, but was driven back into the quarry by Sapphire's screeching.

- It is the only known creature outside of the Gem race to live on Homeworld prior to the series.
