Carnelian is a Quartz Gem apart of Blue Diamond's group of soldiers alongside Jasper. She was once apart of a Cluster Gem experiment until she was healed and rebuilt by Jade.
Appearance
Carnelian has bright scarlet skin, darkish-maroon hair, and peachy-orange eyes. She also possesses spaced, crowded teeth uncharacteristic of any other gem. Another notable trait is her catlike lips, just like the Crystal Gems' Amethyst, whom she boasts a slight height advantage over. A defective Quartz soldier from the Beta Kindergarten, she, like the Crystal Gems' Amethyst, is smaller than she should be (albeit slightly taller than Amethyst).
Her blue uniform has a Blue Diamond insignia.
Personality
Like the Crystal Gem Amethyst, Carnelian shares a happy-go-lucky and humorous personality with the other members of the Famethyst. Carnelian is quite energetic, quick to pick up Amethyst in celebration upon no longer being "the shortest anymore".
History
Carnelian was created on Earth in the Beta during Homeworld's control of the planet. She was presumably created for Pink Diamond (like the other Quartzes created on Earth), but after Pink Diamond was allegedly shattered, they were reassigned to Blue Diamond.
At some point, she was taken away with Skinny and Concrete to be put under Cluster Gem experimentation by White Diamond.
Season 7
While stuck as a clustered Gem, she was found by Diopside within the White Diamond Space Station while many of the Crystal Gems were exploring the abandoned facility. This causes her to attack Diopside, which results in Diopside "shattering" her. After being brought back, she was put back together and revived thanks to Jade. Presumably she was brought back to Homeworld after this.
She appears later on with Skinny in the Prime Kindergarten with the other Amethysts, on request by Blue Diamond. She however was found by Rupee and was almost taken away with the rest of them before Amethyst, Steven Universe and Peridot stopped her.
