Crystal Ponies are an ancient subspecies of Pony found within the Crystal Empire.
Description[]
Crystal Ponies are distinct from other ponies by their shiny, gradient manes and tails, and typically polygonal eye reflections that resembles sides of a gemstone. Although the Crystal Ponies appear much like an Earth Pony, they do possess their own specialized magic, described by Celestia, saying that if their kingdom is "filled with hope and love, then those things would spread all across Equestria".
History[]
The race of Crystal Ponies, for a time, were under control of the tyrannical ruler Sombra, up to his banishment a thousand years ago. From this though, the pony race disappeared alongside their empire after Sombra's magic spell made the whole place disappear for a thousand years.
