Fluttershy is a nimble and humble Pegasus Pony from Equus. Once living in Cloudsdale, the result of the Sonic Rainboom had her now live in her cottage by Ponyville. She is also one of the Elements of Harmony, hers being Kindness.
Physical Appearance
Fluttershy is an average size for a pony of her species. As a Pegasus, her body is naturally a bit lighter, and more feeble than other Ponies, hers being a more prominent example of this. Her wings are described as very broad, and her hair and tail are rather long, ending in smooth curls in a pinkish coloration. She has light blue eyes as well, and her cutie mark is three butterflies with pinkish wings.
Personality
Fluttershy has always been, much like her namesake, a shy-hearted pony, often not a pony so willing to be out in the spotlight and being the center of attention. This often can and will make her feel uncomfortable and very nervous if placed in such a situation most of the time. She usually acts this way for newcomers, and more so to newcomers who don't appear friendly during first introductions. This similar fear also makes her unwilling to be involved with Nightmare Night, being too scared to get involved in the festivities.
She still has a mature sense in her though, and her kindness is extended out to others when she does get the proper chance to, as it was her kindness that got Discord reformed. Fluttershy's friendlier nature is far more prominent to other Animals and Mystical Creatures than to Ponies, Humans, and Gems, as she can better understand them and is more comfortable around nature. It was her love towards others and her passion for animals that earned her Cutie Mark, and what it stems from, and this is shown on multiple instances, mostly when an animal is hurt or needing help.
Along with being a friendly soul, she also has a more assertive side to her, though this side isn't brought up too often due to her more kinder nature, as she would come across as a bit harsh if pushed to do such. She does also try her best to help her friends in need, even if her fears do sometimes get in the way.
Abilities
Animal Communication
The ability that earned her Cutie Mark, Fluttershy has an uncanny ability to communicate with other non-sentient animals, Mystical or otherwise. This is shown on multiple occasions, such as her encounter with the Thunderbird and Gem Tortoise, along with of course, her animals at her cottage.
