The Giant Bird is a Corrupted Gem that fought the Crystal Gems both prior to the series, and in "With My Heart and Soul, I'll Protect".
Physical Appearance
Adult
It is described as a giant white bird, with a head crest of glistening white feathers. Its wings have sky blue star marks along their length.
Drones
The smaller birds mirror the adult form, but have stronger legs, no wings, and a long tail, seemingly resembling a raptor.
History
The Giant Bird began to get disturbed when Ruby and Peridot started to argue with eachother during a training session at the Sky Arena. Aggitated, it flew up and confronted both Gems, mostly Ruby. during the fight, it caught sight of Sapphire, captured her, and flew away. It reappeared in the Strawberry Battlefield, and proceeded to confront the others there, its right talon frozen thanks to Sapphire during the fight. It turned its stray feathers into younger versions of itself, making twenty soldiers to fight them all. It ended up poofed when Connie Maheswaran stabbed its head with her sword.

It is capable of turning its stray feathers into other birds to fight with it in combat.
Trivia
- According to the author, this was the same Giant Bird that Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl had fought in Cheeseburger Backpack, the author noting that they fought it but didn't say they defeated it.
- This also hints that the bird is capable of reproduction, as they stole the bird's supposed "egg".
