Griffonstone is a country outside of Equestria, and the primary home to various species of Griffon. It is also where Acid and Cyanide hid to after the Beach City Flooding.

Griffonstone itself is placed up on top of Griffon Gorge: a very high settlement built in a similar way to Canterlot. The town itself is built around a giant, old tree, the tree itself towering over many, if not all, the homes built around it. Many homes within Griffonstone are made up of straw and sticks, some of which built in smaller trees in a manor similar to a nest.
When Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Steven Universe, Amethyst, and Connie Maheswaran arrived, the town looked in complete ruin: described as almost looking incomplete, very illy-kept, and some buildings completely destroyed due to lack of maintenance.

Abysmal Abyss[]
The Abysmal Abyss is a steep cliff that, as Gilda described, splits the mountain in two. It is located just outside of Griffonstone itself, and is prone to very high gusts of wind, making flying through said cliff extremely dangerous to even the most experienced flyers.
History[]
There isn't too much known of Griffonstone's history in detail, but it is implied that Griffonstone was once a proud country, and went through at least fourteen different reigns under a Griffon king, latest one known being King Guto, who had his coronation within in the "Bygone Griffons of Greatness".
In present day though, through currently unknown means, the country no longer has a king, and its inhabitants became a lot colder, greedy, and uncaring towards eachother.
