Ponyville is one of the main locations often presented within the My Little Universe franchise alongside Beach City.

Ponyville is a decently-sized town located just south of Canterlot, and walking distance to the Everfree Forest. The Infrastructure of Ponyville consists of mostly medieval village-style architecture, and typical houses are timber-framed with distinct thatched roofs and overhanging upper floors.
History[]
Ponyville itself was first established hundreds of moons ago, the land given to a group of Earth Pony settlers upon arriving to Equestria, namely members of the Apple Family. Upon settling into the new land, the family of Earth Ponies. It began as an area for simple marketing, in particular Zap Apple jams, until various other ponies had settled into the area, thus turning into Ponyville.
Because the town was founded by Earth ponies, they had to clean up winter by hoof instead of by magic like Unicorns. In the present day, Ponyville still does the "Winter Wrap-up" as a town tradition, shown a number of times in the series. Although started by Earth Ponies, over time, Unicorns and Pegasus had made a home here.
Over the years, Ponyville had become a target for a number of villains, in particular where Nightmare Moon first returned to Equestria from her banishment on the moon, and where Discord had his full take-over upon his return as well.
